Ilham Maulana - Peer Youth Researcher

Ilham MaulanaI am a recent graduate of International Development & Social Studies and also work as a Community Animator in Lawrence Heights. In my role as a Peer Research & Outreach Worker I am looking forward to conducting research with youth who are out of school and unemployed and finding out solutions for employment services in low income communities.

Souleik Kheyre - Peer Youth Researcher

Souleik KheyreI am currently a fourth year student at the University of Toronto studying Employment Relations. For the past two summers I have worked with St. Stephen’s Employment & Training Centre’s Summer Jobs Service program with students looking for summer employment. During this experience I was able to assist students in making themselves job ready through helping them build resumes, cover letters and interview skills. I have experienced a lot of difficulty securing employment as a youth growing up in the Jane-Falstaff community. Now, as a Peer Research & Outreach Worker, I am looking forward to working with youth living in my area and collectively trying to understand how to combat barriers to employment.

Syed Abbas - Peer Youth Researcher

Syed AbbasIt is with high anticipation that I have been working within the marginalized community of Jane and Finch as a youth worker. Throughout my five years of experience in community work, I’ve worked with youth from ethnically diverse communities. Currently, I am working with St. Stephen's Community House as a Peer Research & Outreach Worker where I will work with youth in various Jane Street neighbourhoods to analyze their interactions with employment services.
